RESERVE GRADE
Moree travelled to Kootingal and were determined to leave with ladder points, that's what they did, putting on an absolute clinic in both First Grade and Reserves.
The Charlie Shearer coached Reserve Grade side opened The Boars account with a dominant display of football against a seemingly struggling Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters, taking a comfortable 44-22 win with Caleb Duncan Scoring a Hat Trick and Cody Picker crossing twice during the match.
Coaches Comment:
"The win was great, another one to add to our tally and is always great to get a win on the opposing teams turf.
When we stuck to our game plan we looked unstoppable, our defence wasn’t too bad either.
I think the only thing we need to work on is just holding onto the ball and stop trying to score off every play! Other than that everything is good at the moment.
Next Sunday will be a tough game, Boggabri are pretty handy, but it all comes down to training and discipline, train well play well. The boys know what they need to do"
FIRST GRADE
Not to be outdone, Moree Boars first grade side took to the field and it didn't take long for the Moree to open he scoring with a try to Prop (. ) in the third minute.
It was all Moree ball from there, they held a comfortable 40-0 lead heading into half time, however the Boars were not finished there, putting on a further 22 points in the second half, Three tries to Aidan Smith and a double to captain-coach Jamie Sampson helped the Boars claim victory in their away match.
Coaches Comment:
”The win was great on the weekend.
We really emphasised on playing our brand of footy. Completing sets and defending well.
Our men had great comms and defended great across the field.
We haven't played our best footy so far this season. Our main aim wasn't to mercy rule but to keep them to nil and we achieved that goal.
We take that win and move on to next week which is a big challenge against Boggy.”
