North Tamworth Bears vs Moree Boars
Reigning Premiers Moree Boars travelled to North Tamworth to face The Bears,
Who have had two big wins and two draws in recent rounds.
The Boars opened the scoring through the efforts of Head Coach Jamie Sampson,
Followed shortly after by Kaedyn Smith.
Jake Tighe added to the Moree side’s score in the 17th minute,
North Tamworth finally hit back in the 33rd minute with a try from Jaspe Thistle,
Not to be outdone, the Boars crossed the line right before halftime through Alexander Lawrence.
Coming out of the sheds for the second half, the Home side was quick to make amends for their first-half efforts with a try in the first minute;
however, after that, it was a stalemate between the sides until North Tamworth’s Senirusi Rauqe scored in the final minutes of the match,
however, by that point, it was too little too late.
Moree Boars won the match 22-14.
Boggabri Kangaroos vs Gunnedah Bulldogs
The Kangaroos hosted Gunnedah at Jubilee Oval,
hoping to return to the winner's circle for the first time since the second round.
Things didn’t get off to a good start for the hosting side, with an early try in the sixth minute
to Gunnedah’s Ezra Gibson, followed by another two tries for the Bulldogs by the 35th minute,
with no answer in sight from Boggabri.
Gunnedah took the halftime lead 16-0
The second half started slowly for both sides until Gunnedah broke the scoring in the 51st minute,
which seemed to light a fire under the Boys from Boggabri,
They went on to score four unanswered tries and steal the win from Gunnedah in the final minutes.
Boggabri won 24-20
Werris Creek Magpies vs Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters
Werris Creek had another home game this past weekend,
this round being against a struggling Kootingal-Moonbi Side.
The Roosters went into the game hoping to double their win tally for the season;
however, the Magpies made sure that was going to be no easy feat.
The first scoring moment came from Werris Creeks’ Hooker Darcy Weatherall,
Unfortunately for Kootingal-Moonbi, it was all Magpies Ball for the remainder of the match.
Werris Creek finished the match comfortably, winning 42-4.
WeeWaa Panthers vs Dungowan Cowboys
Dungowan travelled to Cook Oval this past Sunday to face WeeWaa Panthers.
Braydan Johnson Welch was the first to score for the Cowboys in the 13th minute.
Trent Taylor & Toby Taggart added to the Dungowan scoreline before WeeWaa hit back in the 32nd and 39th minute of the first half.
In the second half, neither side was willing to crack until Dungowan broke WeeWaa first with a second try to Braydan Johnson Welch in the 65th Minute.
WeeWaa wasn’t finished yet and scored in the 78th minute, with Jarmarl Converting the Try.
Dungowan got away with the win, with just a Try in it by the full-time siren. 20-16.
